Hyperlinks

In electronic or paper versions, hyperlinks shall be in IEC blue (RGB: 0-96-169 or #0060A9) font, not bold, not underlined [see note]


When inserting hyperlinks in IEC references (standards, committees, etc.) always include IEC in the link. IEC is part of the official reference


The hyperlink is made over the acronym, not its description

Note

In Word for Office 365, to remove underline in hyperlinks: Alt+Ctrl+Shift+s>right-click on Hyperlink in the styles list>click Modify>remove Underline>OK

Remove http:// or https:// even when the URL does not begin with www. But ensure that any links in online documents retain http:// or https:// so that they point to the correct place. If needed, edit the hyperlink

 

Remove the slash at the end of the URL, unless the URL does not work without it. Check before removing

 

If a web link is too long, shorten the link by using: go.iec.ch/admin. A list of existing shortened links is available on that website. You need to create an account to access the website, please contact helpdesk@iec.ch.
